Are you looking for a Stronger Presence on Social Networks?
There are many definitions out there and for many of us it’s all still a little blurry. Defined simply, Social Media are different ‘communities’ where ‘users’ interact with each other in a more personal and interactive form to other forms of written communication. Communication can extend from various information shared, to knowledge, to a platform where users ‘get together’ to share and discuss common interests. Social Media is NOT Social Networks.
Although social networks are the most well-known part of Social Media, it does not end there. Social Media is a range of platforms where interactive communications technologies (ICT’s) are used’.
Why should you CARE?
Put simply, if don't consider Social Media as important to your business's marketing strategy then you're out of the game! Here are some facts and figures which demonstrate its importance.
Did you know?
- Facebook has overtaken Google as the most visited site? That’s 175 million users logging on every 24 hours! Schools and even Kindergartens are now teaching children on iPads instead of on chalkboards, or even whiteboards for that matter!
- If Facebook were a country, it would be the 3rd largest country in the world.
- Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Britney Spears have more followers on Twitter than the ENTIRE POPULATION of Sweden, Israel, Greece, Chile, North Korea and Australia
- YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world, with 90% of consumers trusting peer recommendation to any other type, and with Generation Y and Z considering e-mail to be out-of-date and being constantly online
- That’s the Social Media revolution!
What’s In it for your BUSINESS?
The fact that a high percentage of the world’s population is online can only mean that someone out there is most probably praising your brand/company or talking badly about it. You need to be aware of what is being said, and what other way is better to participating in the conversation?
Social Media is a ‘virtual place’ which allows you to directly connect and communicate with your target audience. A place to build, maintain and strengthen relationships. A set where, with attentive listening or by using the right monitoring technology (e.g. a well-equipped CRM), you can find out EXACTLY what your audience is looking for, and find solutions through which you can improve your brand, your customer relationships and business services! So, ENGAGE!
Build a reputation around your company or brand and show initiative through adapting to the change in communication. Your audience holds the key. Utilising what your audience has to say can hugely strengthen your brand or business.
How we do it?
When Dynamic Works, works with clients on their Digital Marketing Strategy, we start with a detailed question and answer process. There is no single portal or Social Media platform or combination of platforms that work for every business. We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of Social Network platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and blogging.
The objective of this Q & A process is to understand your short-term and long-term business goals, to see what your other current marketing and advertising efforts are, and to determine what results you expect from your Digital Marketing campaign.
Once we have clear answers to these questions, then we will be able to look at a variety of portals and Social Media platforms and see which ones are best suited to deliver your message.
For example, if you are looking to establish yourself or your business as experts in your field, blogging and social community involvement may be the best way to go. If you are looking to enhance your customer service or make specific offers to your target audience, Twitter may be the best platform. For businesses looking to work with other businesses, LinkedIn may be the best route.
In some cases, many businesses go the "trial and error" route. They dip their toes into Social Network waters and fail to achieve their desired goals. They fail for any number of reasons: misunderstanding the etiquette of a particular platform, poor messaging or, even a failure to commit time and resources.
That’s why it is so important to have Digital Marketing experts to build your campaigns. Dynamic Works, works with clients to build their Digital Media campaigns. In some instances, we just handle the front-end work: creating a strategic plan and launching the campaigns. In many cases, clients want us to run all aspects of their Digital Marketing campaigns including the day-to-day operation and Social Media engagement.
Erik Qualman, author of Socialnomics said, “We don’t have a choice on whether we DO Social Media, the question is, how well we DO it”.
