Tree-structured content as well as the flexibility to apply multiple categorisations to articles/pages is very useful when comes to providing metadata.
Certain metadata values are created and stored by the system automatically (e.g., author, last updated date, live date, expiry date etc.). In certain cases the location of the content can also be used as a metadata value. Additionally, with the use of Content Types, Administrators can create any metadata fields required for each record/page, e.g., custom keywords.
